This workshop explores the intersection of resource adequacy and wholesale market design. As power systems evolve amid electrification and shifting demand and generation patterns, the discussion examines how market mechanisms and incentives may need to adapt to ensure reliable system operations. The event brought together experts from research institutions, system operators, and industry to discuss emerging approaches for maintaining resource adequacy in increasingly complex energy systems. It was jointly organized by a committee including members from EPRI, NREL, Johns Hopkins University, the German Institute for Economic Research, and Imperial College London.
