The G-PST Consortium hosted an official side event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 22, 2022, at the first-ever Global Clean Energy Action Forum (GCEAF), a joint convening of the 13th Clean Energy Ministerial and the 7th Mission Innovation ministerial. The side event gathered consortium leaders and grid system experts for a roundtable discussion that shared examples of technical and operational innovations that are accelerating power sector decarbonization and how to scale these innovations to rapidly integrate variable renewables and other advanced energy solutions into the power system. The event was moderated by Jason MacDowell, Senior Director of Technology, Strategy, and Policy and General Electric (GE) Energy Consulting, and featured speakers included:
- Alfonso Blanco – Executive Secretary, Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE)
- Patricia Hoffman – Principal Deputy Director, Grid Deployment Office – U.S. Department of Energy
- Julia Matevosyan – Chief Engineer, Energy Systems Integration Group (ESIG)
- Danielle Merfeld – Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, GE Renewable Energy
