Since its launch in 2021, the Global Power System Transformation Consortium (G-PST) has hosted hundreds of technical events and activities, helping system operators, industry leaders, researchers, and decision-makers from over 136 countries advance power system transformation. Nearly two-thirds of global power system operators have benefited from technical exchanges, training, and the deployment of cutting-edge tools and solutions in control rooms.
G-PST connects system operators with key technical innovation partners in industry and research. Many of core system operator members report that their participation has directly improved their ability to maintain stable, reliable, and affordable power systems.
By sharing experiences and tackling challenges together, G-PST accelerates the development and deployment of solutions that benefit system operators, manufacturers, and the broader industry. Experts from national laboratories, research institutions, and leading technology companies, including battery manufacturers and project developers, are using state-of-the-art data, tools, and methodologies to drive progress in power system transformation.
Explore G-PST’s impact through our accomplishments brochure, informational videos, and insights from partners featured in the rotating testimonials below.
G-PST's impact on the power system is not just numbers or values. All G-PST members support each other, because we are facing an unpredictable future. Finally, we are asking the right question. What future do you want to create? By answering the right question together, our next generation can enjoy a sustainable world.
Sulawesi, Indonesia forecasts a huge uptick in near-term demand that will primarily be met with new renewables. We broadcast G-PST’s webinars to pertinent PLN staff to see innovative and modern ways global utilities are embarking on higher penetrations of variable renewable energy.
You cannot live in this world without collaboration. There are so many things that have been done. You don’t want to reinvent the wheel and spend months and years on something that has been already been done. G-PST is group of people, made up of utilities, that are quite a few steps ahead!
I joined this mentorship program to position myself as a thought leader in the power industry.
I joined the Women in PST and GWNET Mentoring Program to gain more knowledge and experience in the energy sector. I believe that this is crucial for my active involvement in the reconstruction of my native Ukraine. The energy sector in Ukraine requires significant upgrades and reconstruction to enhance its resilience, and I am eager to contribute to this important initiative.
G-PST is unique because the system operators and the practitioners are working deep in the issues they are trying to solve. It’s not only that they are researching on those issues, it is that they are dealing with those issues every day, and they are solving the issues at the same time.
I would recommend any engineer to work with the GPST network because it helps you to just grow – not only technically, socially as well; I’m completely sold that it is the right place to be.
It is possible, that is why we are here. Go back 20 years and people said you’ll wreck the power system. It took people stepping up and providing real leadership and real vision to get us where we are today. That is what it takes to achieve progress.
