This workshop is the fourth in a series of events dedicated to exploring the critical topic of Establishing an Independent System Operator (ISO). It is organized in collaboration with ZESCO, the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP), and the Regional Energy Regulators Association of Southern Africa (RERA). This workshop explores ISOs and their regulatory regime. It covers ISO’s legal framework, understanding the role of regulatory agencies, and emphasizing transparency and independence as key regulatory principles. Additionally, the workshop will cover the complexities of unbundling, uniform accounting, and ring-fencing or separation in line with regulatory requirements.
